Previous Youth Tour Winners
This educational program allows our state's future leaders to join other teens from across the nation in open discussions with government officials and other professionals about the important events of the day. Students will learn how a cooperatively-structured business is distinguished from other forms of business enterprises, and how co-ops impact our lives on a daily basis.
The trip will include a visit to Capitol Hill where students will have the opportunity to meet their Congressman, as well as tours of the monuments, memorials and other historical sites. Some of the many places they will see include: Mount Vernon, home of George Washington, the National Cathedral, and the Smithsonian museums. Students will also get to compete for the chance to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Who is Eligible for the Youth Tour?
The contest is open to any high school student who will have completed his/her sophomore year by June 2015 and is currently living in our 12 county service area, which includes all or parts of Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, Hopkins, Delta, Franklin, Fannin, Van Zandt and Wood.
